Eia's Spiritual Connection

The Labyrinth

The Labyrinth captures the mystical union between heaven and earth. At a distance, a labyrinth appears as a form of Mandala, which in Sanskrit means circle and center.

Luckily, understanding how a labyrinth works on the body, mind, and spirit isn't necessary to obtain Spiritual Guidance. Focusing on the process of moving through the labyrinth can allow us to shift into a Harmonious, altered state.

We then become attuned with the Divine and thus receptive to Spiritual Guidance.

Many Healings, answers to questions, and overall wellbeing have been reported as a result of walking in a labyrinth.

Not only retreats offer these, but now increasing numbers of Hospitals are having them built for patients and families.

More than 170 churches and community centers in the United States have built labyrinths!

You can experience a labyrinth also by "fingerwalking" the path of the labyrinth. You may use your index finger or a pointer such as a closed pen or an object meaningful to you.

Below is a picture of a labyrinth which you may print out and try for yourself!

Use the following guidelines for seeking spiritual guidance.

1. Select your question.

2. Prepare. Set the tone with prayer.

3. Enter the labyrinth and go inward. After focusing on your question, enter the labyrinth and start moving along the path toward the center at Your own pace.

4. Seek guidance at the center. Ask your question in a meditative manner. Stay "in the center" (physically or mentally) as long as you desire, quiet and receptive.

Answers may be received while in the labyrinth, but if not, don't feel disappointed. They may surface hours or days later.

5. Walk outward and exit the labyrinth. When you feel ready, retrace your steps out of the labyrinth. Pause to let your experience take hold.

6. Be watchful for guidance. In the hours and days ahead, be alert for guidance through dreams, synchronicity, or other forms and avenues of guidance.

We'd love to hear about your experiences using this tool, so please let us know.
